While the growth along the HWY 84 Corridor that includes neighborhoods such as Hidden Valley, Sunwest Village, Twin Rivers, etc… has been strong for the past 15 years, the traffic light at Speegleville RD has been, to many drivers, a source aggravation.
Good news though! TxDOT has plans to install an overpass at that intersection in hopes to relieve congestion (especially in the mornings and afternoons). This from the TxDOT website, regarding the plans:
“The project is approximately 2.2 miles long and runs from Harris Creek Road to the South Bosque River. Crews will be building a Diamond Interchange at Speegleville Road, as well as constructing two bridges on US 84, one eastbound and one westbound over Speegleville Road. Crews also will extend the frontage roads coming out of Waco to the west end of the project. This project will remove a signalized intersection on US 84, making it a safer road for the traveling public. The project is scheduled to go to contract in December, and construction should start in or around March 2018.”
